Deputy Lyle says that he's sick of Toby's attitude and even says he will pray that Toby will break the law and return to jail as an inmate. This lead to yet another confrontation between The 17-year-old and Deputy Lyle. Shortly after the inmates break into the cells and the guards return to secure the scene, Toby began to become stoic and, although he didn't show any attitude, the Deputies could see that deep down he was showing disrespect. Lyle yelled at Toby again after he and the other kids were ordered to face the wall, but Toby was facing the window right next to the wall. Deputy Lyle witnessed it and yelled at Toby for his actions before shoving a Styrofoam cup in the shirt pocket of his jumpsuit, saying that if he needed to spit again he could spit in the cup instead of the floor. The colorful deputy grabbed Toby's left foot and yanked it up before grabbing the back of Toby's shirt and scolding him for his mistake.Ī short time later, Toby spat on the floor in one of the hallways. During the pat-down, Lyle asked Toby to bend his right foot towards him, but Toby put his left foot up instead. Lyle first lashed out at Toby when the troubled teen was asked to empty his pockets at a pat-down counter. Throughout the tour, Toby and Deputy Lyle never hit it off with one another. Two months into that incarceration, Toby picked up 3 more felony charges after he broke a sprinkler which flooded the entire cell block. After 14 months spent, Toby got arrested once again two weeks later (August 24, 2020) after assaulting, imprisoning, and threatening a 25-year-old woman. Toby was arrested in February 2017 for possessing meth, re-arrested on Jfor the same offense, and was charged in 2019 for causing felony-level damage to the floor of a cell. He was charged in 2016 with possession of Meth and of a firearm by a convicted felon. Toby admits that Deputy Lyle did as he promised, "he decides everything for me".Īfter serving two years before being put on probation, Toby has had many sorrows. ![]() He spent two years behind bars before being granted parole. The same thing happened at lunch, dinner, and his weekly store call. Three inmates walked over to Toby's table during breakfast and took his tray. He tells them that jail isn't a joke and tells them the story of his first day being incarcerated. Toby was privileged to speak with the kids during their jail tour. Toby volunteers to tell the kids his story. He was incarcerated for allegations of assaulting his Mom. Toby returned to the show eight months later on Season 5 Episode 2, this time as an inmate. ![]() Deputy Lyle complained of Toby "spitting on my helping hand". Toby would soon return to Floyd County jail. Toby said that school it was "pointless" and he just "didn't want to go". Since the tour, according to his mom, he missed school for over two weeks. He still had arguments with his family and had the Police called on him again for making terroristic threats against his Mom. One month after Toby's jail program, however, he did not change his ways. ![]() He tells Toby that he can find a way in his heart to break the cycle as well and change for the better. During his jail tour, however, Womack discovered that he could change for the better and that being disobedient doesn't make him cool. Womack recalls a time when he was touring the jail for fighting, disorderly conduct, and disobeying his parents when he was Toby's age. After a while, Sergeant James Womack has a talk with him. When it comes time for Toby to talk to his mom and show her that he's changed, she doesn't show. Deputy Lyle repeatedly antagonized Toby hoping to break him down and make him feel bad about the decisions he's made. His silent, stoic demeanor really didn't hit it off with the guards, most notably, Deputy Jonathan Lyle. He didn't say anything rude nor did he show any emotion. Toby was first featured on the show on Season 3 Episode 13 after 15 charges were brought across him.
